Meet your Tiger- Calvin Raymond

Hello and welcome to our Meet Your Tiger posts! We hope to keep these up and going weekly, to help not just our fans and sponsors get to know us but also to help us get to know each other better. Meet alumni Calvin!

Calvin igraduated from LC in the class of 2016, he was a Team 2944 member since 2012. He joined robotics because "I wanted to join my freshmen year but I was really intimidated when I went to the first team meeting. My sophomore year I tried again and fell in love with the entire team, they were all interested in the same things I was and have since become my best friends."

Now onto the juicy stuff:

• Would you rather watch Star Trek or Star Wars?

• star wars every day of the week.

• What motivates you to work hard?

• I put 150% into whatever I do because I take pride in what I accomplish and would rather have it done well the first time than getting it done quickly and have to go back to it later.

• It's karoake time! What are you going to sing?

• I don’t sing I robot, but if anything by my lady T-swift comes on I’ll belt it like there is no tomorrow.

• What do you plan to do after high school? Do you want to stay involved in STEM somehow?

• After High School I plan to attend the United States Air Force Academy to further my education in unmanned aircraft systems and train to be a captain in the USAF. STEM has a major role in the military and my experiences in robotics will greatly help my education and continuation in the military.

• What is your favorite thing about FRC?

• All the amazing people I have met and worked with. I can’t even count the amazing friends I have made from many teams all over the area. Everyone is so nice, it is great to see that not all of my generation is immature and unprofessional.

• If you had a time machine, what year would you travel to?

• I think the 1960’s would be a really interesting era to witness.

• What has been your favorite subject at LC?

• So far I am loving my AP psychology class, except for the fact that it starts at 8:00am

• If you were a super hero, what would your powers be?

• This is one of my favorite questions, my superpower would be the power to refill anything. Glass empty? Refill it. Bank account empty? Refill it. Gas tank empty? Refill it. The possibilities are endless.
