Hello and welcome to our Meet Your Tiger posts! We hope to keep these up and going weekly, to help not just our fans and sponsors get to know us but also to help us get to know each other better. If you have a suggestion for which Titanium Tiger you would like to hear from next or if you have question suggestions, please email us at Team2944Historian@gmail.com.
And now, drrrrrrrrrrrum roll, please....
Meet alumni Kaitlin Desormier!

Kaitlin graduated from LC in the class of 2016, she was a a Team 2944 member since 2011. She was interested in engineering.
Now onto the juicy stuff:
Would you rather watch Star Trek or Star Wars?
Star Trek, but I'd prefer the Lord of the Rings over either. I'm a fantasy girl.
What motivates you to work hard?
My friends and family. I'd like for them to be proud of me.
It's karoake time! What are you going to sing?
Queen all the way! Bohemian Rhapsody for the win.
What do you plan to do after high school? Do you want to stay involved in STEM somehow?
Right after I graduate, I'd like to spend a year of service in Americorps, helping people in disadvantaged communities. After that, I'll study Environmental Engineering at the University of Washington - which answers your second question. I'd like to eventually work for the EPA as an environmental engineer.
What is your favorite thing about FRC?
The community of it. I love how so many different people come together to compete at something they love. And I adore how much everyone, even across teams, works together. Coopertition, right?
If you had a time machine, what year would you travel to?
1970. The counterculture movement is my favorite part of American history. I love the music, and the culture, and the ~awesome~ fashions. Most of all, I admire the huge push for equality. I'd have marched for equal pay (or reproductive rights, or African American rights, etc...) with the best of them.
What has been your favorite subject at LC?
Overall? Math. I like calculus. Currently, though, I'm really enjoying my Current World Affairs class. (That seems redundant, but it's not.) Learning about what's happening in the world and taking positions on things is neat.
If you were a super hero, what would your powers be?
Can I cheat and say omnipotence?
Thanks, Kaitlin! We have loved finding out more about you and we are so glad you chose to become a Titanium Tiger!
Stay tuned to find out who our next Meet Your Tiger will feature!
